Assisting Clients with Grief

Date: Thursday, October 17, 2013
Time: 12:00 PM - 01:30 PM
Location: The Petroleum Club, Long Beach
Speaker: Reverend Gary Tucker

A midlife carrier change took Reverend Tucker back to school for graduate training in ministry. Gary served as Minister of Pastoral Care for eight years at a Community Church in San Juan Capistrano.  Since 2001, he has worked in hospice as both a chaplain and/or bereavement coordinator, working with the terminally ill and their loved ones, following up with and supporting families for at least 13 months following the death.  Gary also volunteers his time, serving as a member of the Orange County Alzheimer’s Association as Advisory Board member, chairing their Advocacy Committee, and working with the Interfaith Outreach Committee.  For the past two years, he has chaired the California Alzheimer’s Council.  Gary is also a volunteer police chaplain.  He lives with his wife, Wendy in San Juan Capistrano.
